In 1994, G. Mustafa Mohatarem, Ph.D. was named chief economist of General Motors Company. GM’s Corporate Economics Team is responsible for assessing the impact of worldwide economic developments on the corporation and forecasting economic growth and vehicle sales in countries around the world.  Mustafa is an expert on trade issues and heads the corporation’s Trade Team.  He interacts regularly with officials from the United States and other countries on trade-related issues.  He was the lead contact for GM with the United States and other governments during Uruguay Round General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) negotiations, as well as the U.S.-Canada Free Trade Agreement, North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and TransPacific Partnership (TPP).

Michiel Alferink is vice president international commerce and sales for Athlon International. He first joined the company in 2007 as international sales and marketing manager, leaving briefly to serve as sales manager of the Spanish branch of IT Mobile, which was launching into the Spanish market and is dedicated to telematics, mainly for fleet management. Michiel rejoined Athlon in 2011 as commercial director for Spain & Portugal and was promoted to his current position in 2014.

Joao Andrade is the managing director of Localiza Fleet Solutions the largest fleet leasing/management company in Brazil. He is responsible for overall operation and sales. Joao previously held positions as sales director and operations director at Localiza Fleet Solutions. Before joining Localiza Group, Joao had a leadership position at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants where he was responsible for several projects in the automotive industry.

Mike Antich is executive editor and associate publisher for Automotive Fleet Magazine. Mike has been heavily involved in the fleet industry for more than 25 years, writing and editing more than 5,000 articles on fleet management, in addition to his active membership in a number of industry associations, including the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA), NAFA Fleet Management Association (NAFA), and the International Automotive Remarketers Alliance (IARA). Mike is a past AFLA president. he was inducted in the Fleet Hall of Fame in 2010.


Carel Aucamp

Carel Aucamp is the global category manager for trade marketing at British American Tobacco currently based in London with a virtual team in Singapore, Moscow, Cape Town, Istanbul, Paris, Sao Paulo, Costa Rica and Monterey. He has a keen eye for optimization and integration, with a passion for globalization and change management. In 2016 he was recognized by Fleet Europe as the International Fleet Safety Award recipient for his change management program to improve safety, reduce cost and move the fleet program to a data driven business solution.


Michael Bieger
Senior Director Global Procurement
Michael Bieger has been in the fleet industry since 1996, first with the pharmaceutical company Hoffmann-La Roche, and most recently as senior director of global procurement for ADP. He is the current president of the Automotive Fleet & Leasing Association (AFLA), has been a contributor to Automotive Fleet magazine, and has served on supplier client boards for GE, Wheels, and General Motors. Michael was named Fleet Executive of the year in 2015 and is a regular presenter at industry functions. He has spoken at Global Fleet Conference in Miami in 2015, the AFLA 2016 conference, and most recently presented at the AfMA 2017 annual conference in Melbourne.


Randy Colley

Randy joined WEX in 2001, as a national account manager and continued in the role of relationship management responsible for the retention and revenue growth of strategic relationships in both fleet and MasterCard virtual products. In 2013, Randy became the manager, corporate payment solutions having a team of six strategic relationship managers. Prior to WEX, Randy worked in the fleet management and leasing industry serving over 16 years with PHH with roles in new vehicle acquisition as a network manager interfacing with both manufactures and new car dealerships and moved into client relations as an account executive in the central U.S.


Fabio Costa

Fabio Costa has been the CEO of LeasePlan Brazil since 2013. Over the last 12 years, he has held different positions within LeasePlan Group including three years of experience in European group companies and CFO of LeasePlan Brazil from 2010 to 2013. Before joining LeasePlan Fabio worked in the financial services sector for more than 10 years. He is also a former director of the Brazilian Leasing Association and member of the board of the Dutch Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.


Oleg Cytowicz
Global Automotive Fleet Lead/Sr. Analyst North American Fleet Ops
Oleg has been with the Unilever Fleet Department for over 27 years where he currently manages the North American fleet of 650 leased vehicles. In 2015 he was appointed the Unilever global fleet lead, and in 2016 was assigned the role of the Americas fleet lead in addition to his global responsibilities. He is experienced in fleet mergers and divestures, as well as fleet sourcing with third-party partners.  Oleg has been a NAFA member for 20 years, has held numerous positions within his local chapter and NAFA National, and currently is curriculum chair. 


Luc De Moor
Luc De Moor is the CEO of EDUCAM Group, which is the knowledge and training institute for the mobility industry in Belgium/Europe. For more than 25 years EDUCAM has been contributing in enforcing and improving the companies in the motor industry (OEMs) by developing people and improving their qualities. It is perpetual improvement that drives EDUCAM, knowing you have to adjust your strategies through influences of autonomous vehicles and the strong increasing technological complexity of the car fleet.  Prior to taking on this role as CEO, Luc held a number of positions in the mobility sector in the USA, Morocco and Austria. 


Emil Gaynor

Emil Gaynor has worked in the fleet business for over 25 years in various roles covering all fleet channels. Much of Emil’s career was spent at GM Europe where latterly he was responsible for Pan European Corporate Sales. In 2013 Emil joined Jaguar Land Rover to support the development of their global fleet strategy, and now works as global sales manager responsible for the Jaguar Land Rover international sales team.


Magnus Grund

Volvo Car Corporation
Magnus Grund is part of the global fleet sales team at Volvo Cars. He joined the Volvo Cars Swedish National Sales Company in 2003 and has since been working in different positions within sales. In 2008 he joined the fleet team at Volvo Cars Sweden as a key account manager. Since 2014, he has been in his current position as one of four managers within global fleet sales. After joining the global fleet sales team at Volvo Cars, his main focus has been on global companies with headquarters in the Nordic countries.


Mace Hartley

Mace Hartley has over 30 years’ commercial experience spanning retail automotive, general insurance and fleet management industries. He holds an associate diploma in accounting and held key roles including chief financial officer for Summit Investment Australia (a Sumitomo company), national sales & distribution manager for Swann Insurance specializing in fleet, broker and new markets and following Smartgroup’s acquisition of his insurance distribution business (Tailored Automotive Insurances), general manager of Smartfleet Management with 42,000 vehicles under management.


David Hayward

David Hayward is the global fleet category head at Teva Pharmaceuticals. Over his 12 plus years in fleet, David has managed a number of different national and international fleets for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, Rentokil North America, AmeriGas Propane and now, Teva. He has broad experience across a variety of fleets including passenger car, service and delivery, and medium- and heavy-duty. David’s fleet career now continues in the global pharmaceutical world where he says he is fortunate to have made many friends.


Steven Higgs
Global Fleet Development Manager
General Motors
In Steve’s General Motors career he has lived in Scotland, Manchester, and London. Steve then relocated to the United States in 1998 as an International Service employee. In 2002, he was asked to transfer to GM US headquarters, and eventually nationalized as a full US citizen in 2015. Steve’s current role includes global/regional sales; identifying, evaluating, negotiating and developing global fleet sales agreements; utilizing existing country and regional customer relationships; leveraging the global/regional portfolio; and processing as an enabler to protect and conquest new business.


James Jin
Director of Fleet Procurement and Operations
James Jin is director of fleet procurement and operations at Merck. He oversees the pharmaceutical company’s 22,000-vehicle worldwide fleet, 6,000 of which are located in the US. James joined Merck in 2005 to manage the company’s fleet sourcing program, and assumed his current position in October 2015. Under his leadership, Merck has developed a global strategy to manage its entire fleet portfolio. The Merck fleet team is focused on value creation through optimizing its operating model, leveraging supplier capabilities, and building a strong governance. James has a solid background in sourcing management with experience in multiple spend categories across different industries. 


Jonathan Kamanns

Ingersoll Rand
Jonathan is the supplier relationship management (SRM) leader for Ingersoll Rand. Jonathan began his fleet career as the fleet safety specialist with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, then was promoted to fleet & safety manager. After Wyeth was acquired, Jonathan became Cephalon’s fleet & safety manager until they were also acquired. He has since relocated from the Philadelphia area to Charlotte, NC and became the fleet manager for Ingersoll Rand. With success in this role, Jonathan accepted additional responsibilities in the role of SRM Leader which includes responsibilities for fleet, global mobility, contingent labor services, and SRM for the HR operational services function. 


Berno Kleinherenbrink

Berno Kleinherenbrink has been active in the automotive and car leasing industry since 1998, after having fulfilled positions at Amoco Chemical and Philips. Berno then became commercial director at LeasePlan Nederland where in 2005 he became managing director. In his current position since 2016, Berno is senior vice president commercial at LeasePlan Corporation.


Ralf Kostrewa

Volkswagen AG Group Fleet International
Ralf Kostrewa started his automotive career in 1990 with Volkswagen Leasing. After different positions in the German and international leasing business, he moved to the Volkswagen Group in 1998 where he became key account manager for international customers and also area manager for France and Belgium. Later he was in charge of the European rent a car, fleet and used car business of Volkswagen passenger cars. In 2012, he was appointed as head of fleet sales international and German authority customers of the Volkswagen Group. In addition, he is in charge of the MAN and Scania mobility consultancy for the Volkswagen Group logistic partners.


Arnault Leglaye

Arval Group
Arnault Leglaye joined Arval Group in 2006, and has been general manager of Arval-Relsa Chile since 2016. He is also the regional general manager for Latin America.  Arnault has held different positions at Arval Group including general manager of Arval Brazil (2011-2016) and successfully launched Arval Romania (2008-2011). Before joining Arval, Arnault had a leadership position at Daimler Fleet Management France where he was sales director.


David Madrigal

David Madrigal is president of Element Fleet Management Corporation in Mexico. Prior to joining Element, David successfully held roles of increasing responsibility across sales, risk, marketing, operations and business development since he joined GE in 2001. 


Joe McKillips
Executive Director
Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS)
Joe became the executive director of the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety (NETS) in 2016. Representing Abbott, Joe had served on the NETS Board of Directors since 2008 and as board chair from 2014 to 2015. He has more than 26 years of occupational health and safety experience across Abbott’s manufacturing R&D and commercial business sectors with emphasis in process safety loss prevention and global road safety. In addition to successfully leading the organization’s fleet safety programs, he led Abbott’s efforts to implement a comprehensive cell phone ban while driving. He also championed Abbott’s initiative to make road safety a component of its corporate social responsibility program.


Greg Miller
Greg Miller is the president of FleetLogik, a specialized fleet management firm providing solutions to a public and private enterprises. Clients represent a variety of industries and fleet operations from 50 to more than 35,000 vehicles worldwide. His prior experience in leading both international and domestic fleet enterprises includes the role of senior vice president fleet operations and procurement for National Express. Greg was also responsible for delivering global fleet excellence for DHL Express, managing more than 30,000 vehicles in 221 countries. He serves on the board of directors for Auto Safety House, a Gladstone Investment company and has been an advisory council member for the Salvation Army.


Matt Nicholson

Matt Nicholson is senior vice president – partner product & strategy at FLEETCOR responsible for working with major oil and leasing partners to grow their portfolios and deliver value to fleets. Matt has been with FLEETCOR for four years in a variety of roles including supporting large fleet customers, telematics partners, and product strategy. Prior to FLEETCOR Matt was with BP for seven years during which time he ran retail operations, worked with major fleets and resellers, and supported strategy and pricing.


Marc A. Odinius

Since it was founded in 1998 Marc has played a leading role at Dataforce in making the fleet business more tangible. Marc is responsible for R&D, product management and sales & marketing. He is an expert on the European fleet business and has supported many players in their strategic decision making process by providing the most comprehensive fleet information on this continuously evolving market segment. Marc started his professional career at Tupperware, one of the biggest fleets in Germany at that time.


Lee Sauerwald

With thirty years’ experience across corporate and fleet management including over sixteen years in the not for profit sector, Lee has a strategic focus on social, financial and environmental sustainability. Lee possesses strong general management skills, is a CPA and holds an MBA. After accepting AfMA’s Fleet Environment Award in 2010 on behalf of Uniting Communities, Lee joined AfMA’s South Australian Committee and then soon became its chair. Lee joined AfMA's National Board in 2013, before serving as vice president for two years and is now the current president of AfMA.

Steven Schoefs has been a journalist for over 20 years. For the past five years Steven has been chief editor of Fleet Europe and Global Fleet, the two leading information platforms on international vehicle fleet and mobility management. In this role, he is responsible for the editorial line and content of magazines and guides, websites, as well as the program and moderation of the yearly Fleet Europe Forum & Awards. At the heart of his editorial philosophy lie the quality of content and the search for new corporate fleet and mobility management trends.


Pascal Serres
Fleet & Mobility Expert
Pascal Serres has spent 25 years in the car financing business (consumers, wholesale and full- service leasing). He has spent the last 15 years as deputy CEO at ALD International. He was, among other responsibilities, in charge of Latin-American development. In 2017 Pascal created his own limited company. Moby-D, designing mobility of the future, wants to have a creative contribution to the new world of mobility and freedom. He is also a fleet and mobility expert with GlobalFleet.com.


Michael Sommer

Michael is currently the head of international key account management at Volkswagen Group Fleet International. Together with his team, he is taking care of the 150 biggest customers worldwide. He joined the Volkswagen Group in 2011 as business development manager within sales and marketing, responsible for group electric mobility. Michael has broad international experience within the automotive industry, and has worked in several fields within sales such as dealer development, project management, sales planning and sales strategy. Michael has been leading cross functional and cross company teams in strategic and operational fields.


Karen Spring
Road Transportation Safety Manager
Karen joined Shell in 2002 as logistics manager at a chemical plant located in Convent, Louisiana. Following that role, she became a procurement manager for Road and Trail Transport for Shell’s Downstream Manufacturing facilities. After working for six years as a buyer, she went back into operations where she was the logistics manager for Shell’s Arctic Venture housed in Anchorage. In 2014, she returned to New Orleans and began the role of Shell’s road safety manager for their Upstream operations in the Americas and she is currently the contract owner for Shell's light vehicle fleet in the US and Canada.


Caroline Thonnon
Caroline is CEO and head of business development at Nexus Communication, the editing company specialized for the international fleet and mobility industry. She has the capability to understand the needs of international fleet and mobility managers, both in Europe and on global level (especially in LATAM and APAC) and to create targeted media and communication plans. Caroline started her career in the automotive fleet sector in 1996. She has also been editor-in-chief of the Belgian magazine Fleet & Business, the international media platform Fleet Europe, the training institute IFMI, Fleet Academy, and Smart Mobility Management. She also focuses on the development of GlobalFleet.com to help global fleet managers succeed in their job mission.


Pascal Vitantonio

Pascal Vitantonio joined ALD Automotive Brazil in January 2011 as general manager. Before joining ALD Automotive, Pascal had an extensive management experience within the Société Générale Group, the controlling shareholder of ALD, holding several executive positions in France, the US and Brazil.


Roland van Oudheusden
Global Products & Mobility Services Manager
Roland van Oudheusden has successfully managed large commercial businesses at Shell. He has 20 years of experience in the European, US and South African market. In these markets he developed solutions with many globally operating customers. In 2013 Roland moved to the US to develop a fast growing commercial fleet business for medium to large fleets in North America. Roland recently returned to Europe in a new global role at Shell Retail HQ. He is responsible for the development of all fleet products, mobility services and 150 Shell network partners around the world.


Doug Walczak

Doug is currently the global business development director for Ford North American Fleet, Lease, & Remarketing Operations. In this role, Doug oversees Ford’s global fleet sales operations to multinational fleet customers. He has leveraged his extensive knowledge & experience of the domestic & global automotive industry to evolve Ford’s Global Business Development team. In a career spanning almost 32 years, he has had multiple leadership assignments in the US field organization supporting Ford & Lincoln dealers and aftermarket parts sales customers, advertising coordinator – Ford Division, brand manager – expedition & excursion, small SUV product marketing manager – North America, limo/livery manager, and fleet sales manager – Ford Export.


David Ward
Secretary General
Global New Car Assessment Program (NCAP)
David Ward is the secretary general of the Global New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), a UK charity which provides a platform for co-operation among NCAPs worldwide. He is also senior fellow at the Towards Zero Foundation which supports the safe system approach to road injury prevention, and is chairman of the Stop the Crash Partnership which promotes use of crash avoidance technologies. His previous roles within road safety include director general of the FIA foundation, secretary of the commission for Global Road Safety, chairman of the World Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility, president of eSAfety Aware, and director general of the EU office of the FIA.
